Informal Meeting of Ministers for Environment

The informal meeting of EU Environment Ministers will advance policy discussions in the areas of the EU’s resource efficiency and air/climate agendas. Particular emphasis will be placed on the Single Market for Green Products; urban environment and smarter cities; air quality and climate change.  The meeting will be held back to back with the informal meeting of EU Energy Ministers and will culminate in a joint working lunch on the Green Paper on the Climate and Energy 2030 Vision.

During this meeting, Connie Hegedaard, Climate Action Commissioner, will introduce the EU strategy on adaptation to climate change. Find out more about the strategy from this media resource sheet.

Climate change and green economy focus of EU Environment Ministers meeting in Dublin

Next week, the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, Phil Hogan TD, will host an Informal Meeting of EU Environment Ministers at Dublin Castle. During the meeting Ministers will discuss a range of important environmental and climate issues as part of the Irish Presidency agenda.

European Environment Ministers today (Tuesday, 23 April) concluded 2 busy days of discussions on a range of climate and environment issues at the Informal Environment Council meeting hosted by the Irish EU Presidency in Dublin Castle.
