Dublin Press Centre

The Press Centre for the Irish Presidency is based in Werburgh Street.

The Dublin Castle Media Centre is located in Werburgh Street. Please note that the entrance is on a separate street from the main entrance to the castle. It is just past Saint Werburgh’s Church. The entrance will be clearly signposted.

The Werburgh Street building is of unusual architectural interest being the first poured concrete building in Ireland.  Media may already be familiar with this building as it has been used for previous events including the visits of Queen Elizabeth II, President Obama and the EU Presidency in 2004.  It has been modified and upgraded based on previous Presidency press requirements and with advice from the press team at the Permanent Representation in Brussels.

Media must enter Dublin Castle via Werburgh Street for security screening and to collect their accreditation badge.  Once they have completed these processes, media may move within the secure perimeter of Dublin Castle.

The media centre will open from 08.00 until late on the days of Dublin Castle meetings.

 Facilities include:

  • Full Security Check
  • Media Accreditation Badge Collection Point *
  • 90 Work Stations
  • 5 Radio Booths
  • WiFi
  • Permanent Presidency Media Liaison Desk to assist with any queries
  • Small areas for pieces to camera, if necessary
  • Café with all day tea, coffee, fruit, snacks and light lunch
  • Permanent Fáilte Ireland Tourism Desk for advice on where to go, what to eat nearby, places to visit etc. Check out the EU Presidency Tourism Media Pack.
